The SX88 is the first model to emerge from a new crossover range introduced by the Italian yacht builder, Sanlorenzo. The “crossover” element relates to the SX88’s combination of design features from classic flybridge motoryachts and expedition or explorer vessels.
“This boat is made for connoisseurs: people who respect the sea and love to go boating; people who like nature and sport and want to interact with the water. This boat can be filled with a lot of extra equipment, like a bigger tender, a jetski and items for windsurfing and diving, so that a family and their friends can really enjoy their contact with the water,” said Sanlorenzo CEO and Chairman Massimo Perotti.
The Sanlorenzo SX88’s design innovations are where this vessel comes into it’s own. At the World Yacht Trophies presentation 2017, dedicated to the best yachts on display at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the Sanlorenzo SX88 was awarded most innovative model of the year taking out “most avant-gard yacht” award.
On offer are wide open spaces with no interior bulkheads and large floor to ceiling windows assuring an optimised relationship and minimising divisions between the interior and exterior of the Yacht.
The deletion of a helm station from the main deck allows an owner the space and flexibility to choose from a number of different layouts. One possible configuration leaves the entire main deck open from bow to stern. The salon and galley all the way through to the aft deck is open plan, an arrangement sure to be appreciated in the Australian market.
With a total area exceeding 30m2 and inspired by the aft deck of exploration vessels, the SX88 ‘s open transom design allows storage of multiple water toys and a tender up to 4.5m. When the toys are launched the area converts in to a spacious beach club complete with hydraulic swim platform.
The SX88’s single helm station located on the indoor/outdoor convertible flybridge features retractable windows and air conditioning making the area suitable for navigating in all weather conditions.
The SX88 is already proving to be a commercial success with nine hulls sold since the model launch at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017.
